This short, but very intensive programme will provide a common sense framework for modern Villa butler food and beverage service and assist with developing an extra special host/guest service experience.
At the end of the programme, student villa butlers will have a greater understanding and knowledge of ‘how to’:
- Prepare welcome drinks
- Serve coffee / espresso and tea etc from butler’s pantry
- Open champagne correctly and serve professionally
- Understand and perform the correct service of caviar or other specialist foods.
- Open wines and know correct storage and service
- Have a basic cocktail knowledge, prepare cocktails & mixed drinks
- Arrange, set up and serve breakfast to the guest
- Provide service of drinks within short time i.e. 5 minutes
- Seat guests, offer appropriate seating in Villa area
- Set the table correctly and appropriately and fold table napkins to impress
- Serve all meals in the butler or appropriate style
- Arrange the butler’s pantry mise-en-place
- Have a good basic knowledge of menus, ingredients and preparation times used within hotel
- Offer butler service of food and beverage
- Arrange and utilise tray settings for food & beverage service
- Carry trays of food and beverages, safely and hygienically
- Delight the host/ guests with innovative ideas to create the ‘wow’ factor
- Check guest satisfaction, understand feedback and implement changes accordingly
- Converse and understand hosts/guests in a more relaxed, but informed style
- Offer and maintain a superior standard of Villa Butler service
