Distance learning with Magnums Butlers offers an opportunity to enjoy learning with the total flexibility of being in your own home or office, in your own time and your own lifestyle, you can study core components included in our Butler / Valet training programme. It is also a very cost effective style of gaining a certificate that will assist you in your future employment applications.

Every step is designed to maximise your skills and assist you towards success. Each module contains assignments for submission to the instructors. If you decide to do the assignments they will be marked, assessed and students are mentored if requested. Every module is another step closer to realising your ambition to be a more professional butler. At the end of the full programme students are granted a well-recognised MAGNUMS BUTLERS certificate based on their completion of assignments, throughout the programme.

How will it work?

By selecting one or more of the topics in the programme, you then set your own pace for study. Each module will be sent to you either via email or post and will have comprehensive notes with instructions and an assignment at the end. When you have completed the assignment, return it to Magnums Butlers for marking. Your grades will be recorded and the marked lesson returned to you.

Module 1: Introduction to the Profession of Butler/Valet etc
An introduction to the profession of Butler / Valet / Private Service Management and Household Estate Management. Setting the standards and systems within the property. Understanding the roles of personnel for professional household management. Creating and maintaining routines and schedules, purchasing, staffing, personal presentation and grooming. Module 2 -Table Management

Module 3: Personal Valet and Laundry Management
Basic requirements and knowledge for the care and handling of clothes. Clothes maintenance and laundering techniques. Module 5: Housekeeping & Household Management
Understanding housekeeping, a comprehensive guide to housekeeping. Techniques and guidelines to assist in professional running of property. Module 6: The Butlers Pantry
Menu planning for different food styles and dietary requirements. Speed cuisine! A professional Butler may often be called upon to 'create' a meal, so some basic techniques and recipes are included, along with some practical application. The Full Programme
A cost effective method, the 10 modules are discounted, the package includes all the modules and DVD’s and students can then submit assignment as and when they wish to, in order to gain their certificate from Magnums Butlers. AUD$2000.00. Price includes marking of assignments and mentoring where applicable. A bonus gift of butler's apron and white butler gloves is included.

How long does the Magnums Butlers' private tuition programme take?
You can take as long as you wish, within reason. However, it is advisable to work on each lesson systematically and complete the programme sooner rather than later. Magnums Butlers advises taking around two weeks to complete each lesson for maximum benefit.

Can I take two or more lessons at the same time?
Yes, providing you can give the time to each lesson.

Will I have to sit a final examination?
No, Magnums Butlers will assess all the assignment grades. Once you have completed all the lessons, all the grades will be commuted to a percentage for final certification in one of three categories: Pass, Merit, and Distinction.

What happens if I have any queries or problems with the lessons?

What do I receive on completion of all the lessons on the programme?
A Magnums Butlers certificate that will indicate your level of success. Our certificates are already well respected and recognised in the industry.

What do I require to get started?
Apart from enthusiasm, once you enrol, you will need a suitable computer application and programme that will run Microsoft Windows Word programmes and a video player for the four video presentations that are included with some of the lessons.
